UX #11:Insider leak— Will Disney spy on us to make their movies better? Ex-Disney Designer spills the tea on the AI and UX behind it.

Everyone is terrified of AI technology stealing human jobs, but Disney was quietly working on AI facial recognition tech back in 2017 to track viewer emotions as they watched a movie.

According to Mashable, Disney wanted to predict how a viewer would react to the rest of the film after scanning their reactions for just 10 minutes.

What are the implications of this type of technology? Imagine if your phone watched you as you reacted to Instagram and Tiktok videos online, informing their algorithm about when you were truly engaged versus just doomscrolling on autopilot.
