Okay, so ChatGPT can certainly help with interview prep, but it can’t mimic the hidden power dynamics in UX job interviews and when working with managers and team members on the job.
So what are some ways to leverage hidden power dynamics during a UX job interview?
#1: It’s important to set up a dynamic of asking questions regularly during an interview. Remember, you are evaluating the employer just as much as they are evaluating you. By asking questions, you don’t seem desperate and keep a recruiter or hiring manager on their toes as well by trying to showcase the benefits of working at that company.
#2: Note down red flags when you ask tougher questions. Think of a UX interview like a date, where both people involved ask questions to evaluate each other. When you ask a question, does that trigger a hiring manager’s defensiveness or ego? That’s a sure sign that you might not enjoy working with them in the long run.
